Coron Super Ultimate Tour Itinerary

This is the itinerary of the Coron Island Super Ultimate Tour we took. Stops might vary due to weather conditions or other circumstances.

1. Kayangan Lake

We were picked up on time from our hotel and taken to the port, where we boarded our boat.

The first stop, Kayangan Lake, starts with a climb up some 163 stairs. It gets interrupted by a beautiful photo spot overlooking Coron Bay (there was quite a long line to take a picture).

After climbing back down 204 stairs, we finally made it to Kayangan Lake.

Kayangan Lake is considered one of the cleanest lakes in the country, and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. The rock formations are stunning above and underwater, so you might want to bring a mask and snorkel.

The Lake was quite crowded when we visited, but we swam to the far end and floated around for a bit, rather peacefully.

💡
Bucketlist2life tip: You have to keep your life vest on in the water.

2. Barracuda Lake

Barracuda Lake is located right next to Kayangan Lake and offers the same stunning rock formations and the same crystal clear water.

It is famous for its thermocline, where its temperature rapidly changes from 28 degrees Celsius (82°F) to 38 degrees Celsius (100°F). Unfortunately, it is located at a depth of 14 m (46 ft), so you can’t reach it without equipment if you’re not a decent freediver.

As we’re not good at freediving (and obviously not at taking underwater photos either), this place felt a bit redundant to Kayangan Lake.

3. Skeleton Wreck

Skeleton Wreck was our first proper snorkelling spot of the day, and we enjoyed it very much. The wreck of a WWII-era Japanese ship is shallow enough – starting at 4 m (13 ft) – so that even beginners can enjoy it. In case you’re a good freediver, the wreck goes down to 22 meters (72 ft).

The wreck is overgrown by coral, and we also spotted some small reef fish.

We were the only boat here, which added to our enjoyment of this spot.

4. Coral Garden

Next up was our second snorkelling spot at Coral Garden. The water is shallow and crystal clear. We spotted some coral and small fish, but to be honest, this is a very touristy spot and the reef is not the healthiest…

5. Lunch

Our lunch was served to us in a small cabana right above the water. It was a typical Philippino buffet style lunch with vegetarian, fish, and chicken options as well as loads of fresh fruit for dessert.

💡
Bucketlist2life tip: We highly recommend adding a rental kayak for the day for an extra fee.

After lunch, we decided to take our rental kayak for a spin, and we can fully recommend you do the same. As most people stuck to relaxing and digesting, we had the stunning limestone cliff landscapes almost to ourselves.

6. Twin Lagoon

Next up was our personal highlight of the day, Twin Lagoon, aka more kayaking. Upon arrival, our guide offered everybody a small photo shoot with the stunning backdrop of the lagoon.

Afterwards, we jumped in our kayak and started exploring the first lagoon. Thanks to our trusty vehicle, we could cover further distances and leave most of the other people behind – perfect if you want to enjoy the breathtaking limestone cliffs in peace and for scenic photos.

The two lagoons are connected by a thin, low rock wall. At low tide, you can swim through a hole in the rock wall; at high tide, you can climb over it using a ladder. As we visited during high tide and had to climb the ladder, we couldn’t take our kayak with us to the other side, so we spent the majority of our time on the first side.

7. CYC Beach

Last but not least, we went to CYC Beach, which is located on a small island between Coron and Uson Island. Beaches are a rare sight in and around Coron, so this stop felt like a little treat.

At the time of our visit, there were only two other boats, so we spent the time swimming, lounging at the beach, and taking photos with the help of our guide until the sun had almost set.

Coron Super Ultimate Tour – Our Honest Opinion

The Coron Super Ultimate Tour is exactly what the name promises: a full-on, packed day that hits every major highlight in and around Coron. With seven stops on the itinerary, it sounds intense at first, but in reality, the pacing worked surprisingly well. We spent around 30–45 minutes per stop, which was enough to enjoy each location without feeling rushed – though you definitely need to be ready for a long, active day on and off the boat.

What really stood out to us was how well-organized the entire tour was. With smooth transitions between stops, everything ran efficiently despite the packed schedule. The guides were friendly, attentive, and happy to assist with photos.

Yes, both the boat and some of the stops were crowded, especially popular places like Kayangan Lake and Twin Lagoon. That said, these spots are famous for a reason and absolutely worth seeing. If you want total solitude, a private tour is the only real alternative – but it comes at a much higher price. For us, this tour struck a great balance between seeing iconic places and staying within a reasonable budget. Overall, it offers excellent value for money, especially considering how much is packed into a single day.
