Varosha used to be a famous holiday resort in the 1970s. It became abandoned in 1974. Homes, hotels, shops, and bars remain empty since then.

Because we travelled out of season we found it very difficult to access tours locally. I had used Get Your Guide previously so decided to look on their website and found just what we were looking for. We had a shared minibus with just one other couple; the itinerary was exactly as described and our driver Chris was friendly, efficient and informative. We were picked up and dropped off at the front door of our hotel so couldn’t have been more convenient. Really couldn’t fault it.

These monasteries are absolutely amazing. It's well-worth the trip and the price is great too! What I also liked about this trip is that there is a running commentary given by the guide pretty much for the entire trip so you're always learning about the country or locations that you're passing through.
